French Products Are Closer to London than You Think

The two great cities of Europe – London and Paris - are so close and yet so far away. For instance, the cultures are so different and we in England could do well to better emulate the romance of France. Perhaps now is the time to do that with Valentine’s Day looming on the near horizon?

As possibly the most important day of the year for lovers worldwide, those engaged couples in London may well be thinking of popping the question on this feted day. So, how might they plan the circumstances to surround the timing of this most important event and yet not have to leave the capital?

How about breakfast at one of the many cafes in the West End that have deliveries from France in the early hours bringing beautifully fresh croissants directly from the most romantic country in the world, and to be enjoyed with a steaming cup of cafe noir. How about a wander through the various shops which offer French products in the UK ? How about a little perfume for madam!

A light lunch followed by a French movie could be a good way to spend the afternoon. A recent survey showed 19 cinemas in London showing French films! - Or, maybe, a visit to an art gallery or an exhibition. And then the evening – a special meal booked at a French restaurant like Le Gavroche in Mayfair with champagne to set the mood.

And then, on bended knee, nervously he pops the question. Surely she will say yes. She will have been primed for this as surely had he booked the Eurostar from the centre of London and actually taken her all the way to Paris.
